Tropical Storm Amanda Response Underway In El Salvador

Hygiene kits have been delivered via air freight. Nearly two tractor-trailer loads worth of product have been delivered to a military base in the U.S. and will be flown to El Salvador soon. Distributions will continue once the new items arrive at the in-country Convoy of Hope warehouse.

Convoy of Hope’s El Salvador office packaged 600 family food and hygiene kits for Castillo Del Rey, who picked them up at our warehouse in San Salvador. The members of Castillo del Rey have already distributed the food and hygiene supplies to families in need. Below is what we’ve been able to accomplish so far in El Salvador.

Convoy of Hope has initiated a response in El Salvador after Tropical Storm Amanda devastated parts of the country. The storm made landfall in Central America on Sunday, triggering landslides and flooding. At least 15 lives have been lost in El Salvador, including five children. Our in-country team members immediately began their response and have purchased relief supplies to deliver to families. Hygiene items and food are the main priorities at this time.
