Children’s Feeding: More Than Just a Full Belly

Tanzania Reported by Convoy of Hope

Tanzania is one of the many places where Convoy of Hope is changing lives. Children at multiple primary schools eat meals thanks to your generosity. We recently saw how your partnership is making a difference.

Founded by Pastor Glorious Shoo, Fountain of Hope Primary School has more than 300 students, and 70% of them are either living in poverty or are orphaned. Pastor Shoo said he started the school because he felt called to love children through education. But to truly help them, he needed resources and food that he didn’t have.

After partnering with Convoy of Hope, students at the school are now fed every day the doors are open.

“We thank God for the heart you have … we are really enjoying the manna packs you have for us,” said Pastor Shoo. “You are good, and we are blessed for what you have done for us.”

Each of the containers Convoy of Hope sends contains food like fortified rice, manna, and different kinds of bread for the children to eat. Two of the shipping containers are already empty, and the third is almost finished. The school is planning on turning the containers themselves into libraries.

“This Manna Pack is just good, and all of us like it,” said Vera, one of the 300 students at Fountain of Hope. She shared that, to her, the manna packs were more than just a full belly. She said they changed her life and the lives of her entire family.

Fountain of Hope is only one of the many schools that Convoy of Hope partners with in Tanzania. This work is multiplied all over the country through the generosity of our network of supporters and partners. Because of the work being done today in the lives of children, the future of the communities we serve is bright.
