Empowered Woman Finds Her Voice: Claudia’s Story
Claudia was insecure and downtrodden and now she is an empowered woman. For much of her life, her attempts to bring in an income and support her family were going nowhere. She was a talented baker and cook, but the demands of life — not to mention the additional finances that are necessary to run a business — left her feeling like a failure.
Thankfully, for Claudia, someone in her tight-knit Salvadoran community introduced her to Convoy of Hope and the Women’s Empowerment initiative. Things started to take off!

As she learned from and bonded with other women, she found the drive, motivation, and confidence to continue with her business and expand. With gifted startup equipment from Convoy of Hope, Claudia could offer more than just bread to her customers.
Two years later, Claudia’s business is booming. She continues to sell bread while also offering fresh fruit and traditional Salvadoran dishes. A continual line of customers visit her stand at a busy intersection.
As for Claudia herself, she is transformed. She knows her own worth and isn’t shy about sharing it.
