Convoy of Hope and local partners on the ground are making a difference all over the world.
Convoy Field Teams often come alongside these local partners to meet needs and help communities thrive. They bring extra value to Convoy’s sustainable programming.
Our partners in Greece are a beautiful example of sharing hope with the help of Field Teams. They stand with the marginalised and treasure each life they encounter. These local partners ended the summer with events that the children and families in their communities will never forget.
One local partner joined with a Field Team to take 40 refugee children to a water park, giving them a fun-filled day before school started. Many of these children have had their childhood stolen from them. An activity like this begins to redeem that and replenish their joy. These children had never experienced anything like this before, and their day was filled with laughter and carefree fun.
In a nearby Roma village, at the end of the first day of school, Convoy of Hope partners and a Field Team hosted face painting, games, and one-on-one time with the children. It was a beautiful celebration of the beginning of school, and it sent the students on with hope and love into the year ahead.
A local church also planned an excursion in the mountains for families that they have been building relationships with. These families, many being refugees from Egypt, have left everything behind in search of hope, safety, and a new beginning. “We spent the day playing games … and enjoying a feast of food. This day was a day to remember that community is a gift we must treasure,” said our local partner.
What is happening in Greece is a beautiful reminder that needs can be met in a variety of ways. From donating finances to packing a picnic to giving time, every kindness counts. Convoy of Hope and our partners do what we do because we believe in the sustainable transformation of communities. We believe in laughter and fun. We believe in making memories. And we believe that these memories will live on, bringing hope and change to the future of each life we come into contact with.
