Honduras: Ana’s Compassion

Honduras Reported by Convoy of Hope

At Hilda Ulloa Elementary School in San Pedro Sulas, Honduras, excited children form almost perfect lines to get their serving of food provided by Convoy of Hope.

Their excitement is palpable, given that they live in one of the poorest regions of the city. Among them, 14-year-old Ana stands a little taller than most and seems to try and hide her smile as she gets closer to the front of the line.

Recently, Ana’s home burnt to the ground and her family of seven lost everything. They now live in a metal shack on the property where their home once stood. They often have no way of eating — that is until Ana brings food to them from school, where Convoy of Hope has been feeding 175 children for two years.

“I feel happy I’m able to help provide for my family. It tastes good to us, especially when we have nothing at all,” says Ana, choking back tears.
