Thanks to the help of our supporters, Convoy of Hope has served Puerto Ricans impacted by Tropical Storm Isaias that blew through the island on July 30. More than 131,000 meals were distributed in the community of Mayagüez this week, as well as thousands of gallons of water and hygiene kits. None of this would have been possible without the support of our friends and donors, and our incredible partnership with Caribbean Produce.

MAYAGÜEZ, PUERTO RICO — Tropical Storm Isaias brought torrential rains and flooding to Puerto Rico. Preliminary flood damage to the municipality of Mayagüez was estimated at $14 million. In the immediate aftermath of the storm, about 448,000 people were without power and about 200,000 people did not have access to any water.

Convoy of Hope has initiated a response in Puerto Rico. Our team on the island will be purchasing water and food to distribute to areas in need. We also are providing a container of food to a local food bank to affected individuals. We also have supplies prepositioned on the island so we can quickly distribute them.
