Convoy of Hope, NASCAR Partner To Supply Groceries at Daytona Event
SPRINGFIELD, MO — February 16, 2020) — U.S. poverty rates have seen the sharpest increase since the 1960s as the country continues to grapple with economic effects of Covid-19, according to recent data. An additional 8 million people nationwide are now considered poor. This week, Convoy of Hope will continue its efforts to supply families with basic needs by partnering with NASCAR Foundation, Joey Logano Foundation, Daytona International Speedway and ONE DAYTONA for a Covid-19 Food and Supply Distribution.
The contactless distribution event will take place Wednesday, February 17th between 3:30-6:30 p.m. ET at ONE DAYTONA shopping center in Daytona Beach, Florida, located adjacent to the Daytona International Speedway.
Open to the public, the contactless distribution will supply bags of groceries, water, hygiene supplies, Bombas socks and gardens-in-a-bag, while supplies last.
“We are determined to serve families struggling during these difficult days,” said Kirk Noonan, who leads the Convoy Nation for Convoy of Hope. “We’re grateful for all the partners who will come together to serve guests of honor in Daytona.”
This is the second year Convoy of Hope and NASCAR have partnered to serve families and communities in need. Convoy of Hope has distributed more than 200 million meals in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
