Community Event :: Bitola, Macedonia

Community Event :: Recap
Last weekend on May 18th, 2012, we held a community event in Bitola, Macedonia in collaboration with churches from four Macedonian communities. Joined by
teams from Arizona State University and North Central University, we were able to distribute 4000 flyers around the city.

Some townspeople asked why were having a ‘Festival of Hope’ in a place that had no hope and this gave us the opportunity to explain that our work is all about finding the hope in desperate situations and promoting it. The weather was incredible and everyone enjoyed the food, music, games, interaction and more. In the medical tent three people were directed to local doctors to handle their high blood sugar situation. One elderly man was taken to the hospital, as his blood pressure was dangerously high. After treatment he returned to thank the medical team. The following morning, children were invited to return for the performance of a play called The Puzzle. In total almost 600 people were in attendance.
